100 Days of Service

100 Days of Service

By Nathaniel Jordan, CPA

As part of keeping with our Firm’s commitment to serving the communities in which we work, employees from all six of our offices across North Carolina set out in recent weeks to participate in 100 Days of Service, a modification to an annual event started by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants 7 years ago as a way for CPAs to stay connected with and give back to their communities.  In previous years, the NCACPA designated one specific day for CPAs to organize and participate in volunteer work.  This year, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, the NCACPA encouraged participants around the state to volunteer their time to organizations of their choosing between August 30th and December 8th.

During the 100 Days of Service, BRC employees have volunteered time and effort at the following organizations:

BackPack Beginnings
Teacher Supply Warehouse
Habitat for Humanity
Hannah’s Haven
Friendly Avenue Baptist Church
Forsyth Humane Society
DUMA Food Pantry
Hood Memorial Christian Church
Gallberry Farm Elementary School
Classroom Central
Urban Ministry Soup Kitchen
Second Harvest Food Bank

Being connected to the places we live and work, helping out organizations we often pass by on our daily commutes, and working side by side with each other gives greater meaning to our roles as professionals and citizens in our communities.
