Do You Wear Jeans on Friday? We Do!

Throughout the year, employees at BRC in our six office locations were given the opportunity to wear jeans on Fridays for a small monthly contribution into our Jolly Jean Fund. A couple of years ago, we made the decision as a firm to use the Jolly Jean Fund to help those in our communities who are less fortunate than ourselves. This year, as an organization, we raised $5,796 to spend on holiday projects across North Carolina. And, with the addition of our two new offices in Charlotte and North Wilkesboro, we were able to extend our outreach and contribute to even more causes.
This year, we can proudly say we provided monetary contributions to the Greensboro Police Officer Association’s “Cops & Kids” program, Triad Shelter Pets, and the Southern Pride Search Dogs in Saluda, NC. These funds were used to sponsor five kids under the Cops & Kids program, three shelter pet advertisements that ran in the Greensboro newspaper during December, and helped with the purchase of wish list items for the Southern Pride SAR dogs.
We also adopted two families at a local elementary school in Greensboro, three children in Raleigh through Learning Together for Holiday Hopes 2018, five children in the Lee County Protective Services in Sanford, and two children who were recently evacuated by helicopter in Burgaw, NC during Hurricane Florence. We were able to purchase warm clothes, coats, shoes, toys, food, and personal items for each child during the 2018 holiday season.
Our Charlotte and North Wilkesboro offices purchased food for ten Thanksgiving boxes for the Charlotte Rescue Mission and 1,300 pounds of food for the Samaritan’s Kitchen which filled 700 school kids’ backpacks during the 2018 holiday season. They also provided a contribution to a non-profit, The Spokes Group, that provides bikes and helmets to the Salvation Army.
Therefore, the next time you visit one of our offices on a Jolly Jean Friday and see our employees in more casual clothes, please know that our contributions are benefiting families and pets throughout all of our communities.
